Today is the last regular avalanche forecast for the 2019-20 winter season. I will be monitoring conditions through the end of the month and will update the forecast if there is a significant change in conditions.
The avalanche danger is LOW today. The small amount of new snow won't change conditions much. Small fresh wind drifts most likely formed along the ridges that may crack out on a person but these probably won't pose much threat.

Weather and Snow
Current Conditions: A quick hitting storm left a dusting of new snow on the Skyline overnight. The snotel weather station on Mt Baldy recorded 3 inches of new snow. Temperatures are in the low to mid 20s and the northwest wind has been kind of breezy along the ridges.
Mountain Weather: The clouds may break as the day goes on today. Northwest wind will continue to be a bit breezy today but should slow later this evening. High temperatures are only going to get into the upper 20s today. It looks like temperatures are going to remain cooler than they have for most of the week. There will be another chance for some snow about mid week but it doesn't look like a whole lot at this point.

The Avalanche Research Program at Simon Fraser University is conducting an online survey to examine how people use avalanche safety information. They want to hear from all backcountry users to understand how they process information provided in public avalanche forecasts. Anyone who completes the survey before May 15th will be entered to win cash prize.
