Human triggered avalanches are not all that likely.
Scattered old wind drifts and wind slabs may still crack out if provoked on very steep slopes.

Weather and Snow
Current Conditions: It was another spectacular day in the mountains on Monday with sunny skies, temperatures into the low to mid 20s, and light to moderate speed wind from the west southwest. Riding conditions have improved with the addition of the weekend's new snow but we really need another decent storm to cover up all the old chunder. Clouds moved in overnight and temperatures dropped down to about 10˚F.
Mountain Weather: We'll have cloudy skies and light wind from the west today. Wind might bump slightly in speed mid afternoon, Temperatures will max out around 20˚F. A minor weather disturbance will move through Tuesday night dusting the mountains with snow. Another storm moves through Friday and Saturday with a better chance of decent accumulations.

Numerous layers of weak faceted snow throughout our snowpack remain the biggest threat. Drifts and wind slabs formed on top of these Persistent Weak Layers over the last few weeks. These are the locations where you are most likely to trigger an avalanche. The problem is now it's hard to identify the old drifts because they are hidden by the new snow. The photo below is a textbook example of what is possible today.
I don't take chances with buried facets. I've learned they are too unpredictable for my risk tolerance. The simple solution is to stick to slopes less steep than 30˚.
