We got to the top of Box Elder Peak around 2pm. Started decent around 3pm. We decided to not drop all the way from the summit as snow was quite wind effected close to the ridges. Instead we skied dow the west ridge to below 11000. I started decent. Snow was changing few times from nice powder to wind effected. Decided to ski cut just above first steeper section slightly more north direction and stopedd to look behind and at that same moment the slope (depth of about 10") behind me released about 10-12" above and run into small gully below taking another 6" leyer with it. Went over the steeper slope taking more snow from below it and growing into much larger avalanche. I was able to safely get down as well as two of my partners. What had slid down was basically a leyer on new snow from recent storm.
