Weather Comments
Another beautiful day in the Wasatch where it felt more like late September than late November. Generally clear skies with a few high clouds, temperatures between 35-45 degrees, but the sun kept things warm. Winds were generally light from the southeast with occasional moderate gusts along ridgelines.

Snow Characteristics Comments

The first signs of patchy snow from this week's precipitation occurred around 8,400'. This was coming up Butler Fork, and I would guess similar or lower elevations on north-facing aspects.

Along the ridgeline connecting to Gobblers Knob, there was more well-connected snow than I had seen the week prior, ranging from 2-6". The snow surface along the ridgeline and on the northerly aspects was covered with substantial surface hoar. The winds hadn't been strong enough to knock any of it down.

This trend continued across most of the range, including areas such as Mineral Fork, Cardiff, and Mill B. There seemed to be much more coverage than in previous storms, and I'll be interested to see how this snow lasts moving into the next larger system with colder temps on tap. Pay attention to where the snow sticks around over the next week, as those zones will become more suspect.

Large notable surface hoar at 10,200' on a north-facing aspect
