Damp
Snow Characteristics Comments
Snow was unsupportable in shallow areas and barely supportable in deeper areas. Wet, loose grains were in at least the top 10" of snow. The dog was punching through further. Skis stayed somewhat on top. It was a bit of a walk to snow in the mud. Melting fast.

Red Flags Comments
Observed three wet slab avalanches in Rattlesnake on the ridge heading over to Mitton Peak. Likely occurred in the past few days. Very dirty debris and even a patch that went to the ground on a slick, rock bed surface. I'll post them in another avy ob.

Comments
Juat an overall uninspiring day with poor visibility, grey skies, and lousy conditions. We need cooler temps. Biggest issue is lack of refreeze over many nights. Everything is mushy and cohesionless in upper part of pack. Wouldn't trust getting out onto a steep slope today ... not that you would have wanted to.
