Poor Snowpack Structure

The primary concern today, was wind loading at upper elevations where a shallow slab had been forming on top of some near surface facets. The snowpack in the area is similar to the central Wasatch with deeply buried December facets at the lower ~40 cm, and a medley of non-reactive rounding facets in the middle portion. However! the dust layer does not seem to be present, at least where this snowpit was dug on a sheltered north facing slope A large crown was present below the ridge and along steep and extremely exposed terrain between the Temple couloir and Deseret peak summit.
