Comments
We found 8-10" of fresh storm snow at around 8500 ft in sheltered terrain. Fresh snow was fairly dense, but still fast. We conducted a quick ECT on a NW facing slope at 8500 ft with an ECTN 15 within the newer storm snow. We measured the total depth to be 200cm. We found the old crust from before the storm cycle at ~115cm from the ground (85cm from snow surface). Unfortunately we did not have time for a more complete snow profile.
We observed some cracking when stepping out of the up track. This storm snow cracking was roughly 8-10" in depth. We never saw any cracks propogate more than a ski length.
