Cool this morning with pleasant temperatures this afternoon if you were in the sun. Northwest winds at times were brisk.

Nice surface snow that is starting to weaken, there were some crusted conditions on the sunny slopes and firm wind slabby snow in the exposed terrain. Conditions are still thin and it looks better than it is.

Early season red flags with weak sugary snow making up the bottom of the snow pack and winds are building a hard slab on top of the existing surface in the wind zone.

Winds from the south yesterday and northwest winds today have been finding loose snow to blow around and are creating some dense wind slabs in the exposed terrain.

Took a quick trip to the " ice box" for a look around. The shady side of Bald Mt. this time of year is a little on the cool side and the northwest wind made for some chilly conditions. Still need a few good storms here to cover the large rocks.
