The American Avalanche Institute's one-day Avalanche Rescue course is a field-based course designed to sharpen your ability to respond effectively in an avalanche emergency. Participants practice beacon searches, probing, shoveling strategies, and organized rescue scenarios to build speed, efficiency, and confidence. Course Format:
  • Full Day in the Field: Hands-on rescue training with transceivers, probes, and shovels.

  • Scenario Practice: Multiple burial simulations and time-sensitive rescue drills.
