The avalanche danger is MODERATE today in the upper elevation terrain. The new snow may be sensitive to a person and small human triggered avalanches are possible. Things change quick during the springtime. The new snow will most likely stabilize rapidly during the day but also may become unstable again if the sun pops out this afternoon. Pay attention to changing conditions during the day and act accordingly.

Weather and Snow
Current Conditions: The quick hitting storm is about done. It produced the high end snow totals from what I was expecting of that storm with an even 6 inches from the north end of the range to the southern end. Temperatures are in the mid teens and the west wind has really slowed down.
Mountain Weather: The storm will move out this morning and we may see some sun by the afternoon. West or northwest wind should be light to moderate in speed. Highs will only get into the low 20s today. Friday and Saturday look very nice with lots of sun and gradually warming temperatures. The next storm system looks like it will move through starting Sunday.
