Forecast for the Skyline Area Mountains

The avalanche danger is CONSIDERABLE today. Up to 20 inches of snow with strong wind will have created areas where human triggered avalanches are likely. This is most pronounced along the upper elevation ridges. If you are seeing cracking within the new snow as you travel, this is a sign that things are unstable.

This is the last week for daily avalanche forecasting. We will continue to put out intermittent forecasts which will revolve around Spring snowstorms through April.
Weather and Snow
Another foot of snow fell during the day on Wednesday bringing totals up to 16 to 20 inches!!! The wind also increased and was blowing and drifting the new snow. This is your main concern today, wind drifted snow avalanches.
We remain in a northwest flow as the storm continues to move through today and Friday. We could see another 2 to 5 inches of snow. Wind will remain fairly strong through mid day today and then start to slow. The weekend looks pretty nice with mostly clear skies.
