There is a MODERATE avalanche danger today on the steep more east facing terrain where yesterday's wind created fresh drifts. My hunch is that most of these are welded in place but still, I wouldn't mess with them. Watch out for large cornices and "pillowy" looking drifts along the ridgelines.

Weather and Snow
Current Conditions: Wow! The wind was relentless on Monday. Folks who were in the mountains said it was hard to deal with. It has slowed overnight and is now light to moderate in speed. Temperatures are cold with many stations in the single digits.
Mountain Weather: Today remains fairly cold with highs in the upper teens. We'll see partly cloudy skies perhaps more so in the afternoon. We have a gradual warming trend through the end of the week with lots of sunshine in store.
