I've bumped up the avalanche danger to CONSIDERABLE along the high elevation northwest through east facing slopes for today. Strong wind combined with some new snow may have deposited enough new snow onto slopes that already have weak old sugar snow near the ground. Continue to avoid these slopes for the time being. Also watch for cracking within any fresh wind drifted snow especially in the mid and higher elevations. This is a sign that these drifts are sensitive and may release on steep slopes.
