Comments
A skier-triggered wind slab approximately 150 feet long and 30 feet wide.
We saw the avalanche path at 11:30 AM while skiing Scott’s Backdoor. The slide was not present yesterday when we were in the Guardsman/Scotts Pass area. From the ridgeline we saw wind loading overnight, particularly on east facing aspects. Our skin tracks on the ridge from the previous day were gone from last nights wind. The avalanche crown was visible when looking into PCMR Scotts Bowl. We skied to Scotts Pass and took photos from below but it was challenging to photograph due to lighting conditions. From below we saw ski tracks leaving above the slide path. We believe the skier was above the slide and skied out.
