recent activity There was a small snowmobile triggered avalanche reported from the Ephraim Canyon zone on Saturday. This was a minor shallow fresh wind slab not involving the old buried weak snow. This type of new snow avalanche activity will stabilize fairly quickly. This is not the type of activity that we are all that concerned about. PHOTO: Randy Hanson There was a larger avalanche reported from Mt Nebo on a large east facing slope. This most likely broke into old buried weak faceted snow. After running close to 2000 feet, it filled the gully up with deep debris. These are the types of avalanches that we are most concerned about. PHOTO: Busto |
