bottom line

The avalanche danger is CONSIDERABLE on the north facing slopes steeper than about 35˚ above about 9200'. Human triggered avalanches are likely in this terrain. Outside of this terrain, the avalanche danger is generally LOW. For now, it is wise to avoid all steep north facing slopes.
current conditions

Avalanche conditions on Christmas Day were more sensitive than I anticipated and I have increased the avalanche danger slightly to CONSIDERABLE on the high north facing slopes. The new higher density snow along with fairly strong wind has now created a slab (stiff layer of snow) over the old weak sugar snow.

There is hardly enough snow to ride a machine yet. Travel on skis can be done cautiously.
