special announcement TODAY, APRIL 16TH WILL BE THE LAST DAY OF REGULAR AVALANCHE ADVISORIES. We will do updates for any significant weather trend that will change the avalanche conditions. This would include significant storms or a rapid and prolonged warming period. |

current conditions Conditions on Saturday were about as expected. We found frozen and firm conditions in the morning, and softening snow in the afternoon. Warming of the snow did not make the snow unstable during the day regardless of aspect or elevation. Riding conditions remain ok if you wait until the snow softens a bit by mid day. Overnight mountain temperatures were about 10 degrees warmer than Friday night with most stations reading in the low 30s. With a clear night, you'll find the snow surface frozen up solid again this morning. |

recent activity On Saturday, I did note a few glide cracks that were yawning a bit wider than the last time I'd seen them. I also noted one on a south facing slope which is the first that I think I've seen on that aspect this season.. |

description
Avalanche conditions will remain mostly stable today. I am continuing to avoid being below glide cracks as well as avoiding big overhanging cornices. Here is a video video about things to watch for this spring. |
