current conditions Temperatures were a bit warmer on Thursday compared to Wednesday. This made the snow become more damp at lower elevations as well as many sunny aspects. I wouldn't say that the mountain temperatures were overly warm. The wind was light to moderate in speed from the west. Lots of good powder remains for riding. |

recent activity I noted a couple of avalanches that released during the increase in wind late on Tuesday. This is old news but it does give us a clue about how the snow has stabilized. The avalanches were on northeast facing slopes and most likely released due to cornice falls during the increase in wind which easily drifted powder snow from west facing slopes to east facing slopes. Stability has increased a lot since these natural avalanches occurred and is seems fairly unlikely for a person to trigger something at this point.
