current conditions Visibility on Tuesday allowed viewing of minor avalanche activity that occurred on Monday during the storm. There was some sluffing on steeper slopes, some soft slab activity during the heavy snowfall rates and there was some wind loaded pockets that released. The avalanches were generally small and harmless. The new snow was still a little sensitive in the wind affected terrain on Tuesday. Wind from the northwest increased overnight which most likely created some additional drifts and slabs that will probably still be sensitive today. Overnight temperatures dipped into the single digits. Wind has slowed down again. |
