current conditions North and northeast wind on Friday increased more than anticipated along the higher ridges and peaks. It was drifting snow onto the southerly facing slopes. Temperatures overnight were in the single digits and the north wind is still gusty along the higher terrain. Once you get down off the ridges, the wind is much slower. |

recent activity There were some reports of small soft slabs triggered by snowmobilers in the Ephraim Canyon area on Friday. These seem to be somewhat "pockety" in distribution. I was not able to get anything to crack during my ride up there on Thursday. Perhaps additional wind on Friday enhanced the sensitivity of these a bit. |

weather We should see mostly clear skies today with ridgetop highs in the mid 20s. Northerly wind is going to remain a bit annoying along the higher terrain during the day and into tonight. It looks like it will start to slow on Sunday. We'll see slightly warmer temperatures on Sunday with a few more high clouds. Temperatures will continue to increase through the first half of the week. The next storm on the horizon is looking like next weekend although it doesn't look like much at this time. |
