current conditions The snow from the last few storms is deep! The last storm ended with very low density snow and not much wind. The wind was moderate in speed on Monday along the higher terrain and some drifting was occurring. There are numerous layers of snow apparent from the three storms since Thursday. A snowmobiler reported that a slab released on a very steep road bank as he rode underneath it. It broke 2 feet deep but was not very wide nor did it run very far. Another group noted cracking within the newer snow as they were digging out a stuck sled. These storm snow instabilities will stabilize fairly rapidly but I'd give the bigger terrain another day or so before hitting it. |
