bottom line

The overall avalanche danger is MODERATE. Human triggered avalanches are possible. The majority of the possible avalanches will remain within the new snow and won't be all that large. There is a very slight chance that an upper elevation north through east facing avalanche path that released earlier in the year may be overloaded to the point that it could break into weak snow near the ground.




current conditions

The Manti Skyline picked up 4 to 6 inches of snow under very windy conditions on Monday. We are expecting a couple more inches of accumulation today. At this time it is unknown how sensitive the new snow is. Approach the backcountry cautiously until you get a good feel of how sensitive the new snow is. Look for signs of instability such as recent avalanches, cracking of the new snow and fresh wind drifts.
